Anawalt Lumber is proud to announce its 100th Anniversary! Anawalt is celebrating all year long with events, special anniversary deals, and giveaways.
You are the reason we have been able to grow and prosper, and we feel you deserve to be recognized for those 100 years. That’s why everything we do this year to celebrate is designed to thank the community that has been so supportive of us over the past century.
Community Matters
We want to celebrate our service and the community for allowing us to be in business for so many years. From hosting workshops on how-to's like gardening tips and DIY house projects to partnering with local nonprofits who serve the community each day – we're committed to giving back in honor of our centennial celebration.
Growing With L.A.
Founded in 1923 amidst lima beans and unpaved roads by Harmond Fred Anawalt Jr., Anawalt has been providing West L.A. with lumber, hardware, tools, and nursery products for over a century. Anawalt was established the same year as Disney, before the end of the silent film era, and when we still got our news from the paper and radio.
Anawalt's flagship location still stands today on the corner of Pico and Sepulveda Blvds., just as it did when it opened one hundred years ago. Now with five locations throughout West L.A., and still family-owned, Anawalt has been committed to providing the best customer service possible to help you complete your projects – whether that is starting and maintaining a garden, building or renovating a home, or making repairs - all while offering quality lumber, hardware, tools, paint and nursery products.

The Party Rolls on in Pacific Palisades
Anawalt kept the party rolling at our newest location in Pacific Palisades. Despite being a smaller store, we were so happy to see how many people from the community came out to celebrate with us. Pacific Palisades is an amazing community full of people that have made us feel welcome since we opened our doors.
Anawalt Kicks Off Our 100th Celebration at Our Pico Store
Anawalt invited vendors and customers to our location on Pico Blvd. to kick off our 100th anniversary celebration. We had great lectures from gardening experts, lots of giveaways, and wonderful conversations with our loyal customers. We appreciate all those that chose to celebrate with us on a sunny spring day in Southern California. We know you could have chosen to be anywhere on such a beautiful day, and are honored that you chose to spend it with us.
Hollywood Celebrates Anawalt's 100th Anniversary
Anawalt is no stranger to Hollywood. We opened our doors before the end of the silent film era! We wanted to celebrate that history with the community and invited everyone out to our location on Highland Ave. for demos, $1 tacos, raffles, and a great lecture by our good friend and even better gardener, Steve List. If you were able to make it out, we are so glad you were there. We could not have made it to this milestone without you.
